The UH089sx is also equipped with DCS (Digital Coded Squelch) allowing you choose from 104 alternative digital codes that can be sent with your transmission. The digital code is recognised by the compatible receivers enabling them to receive or block unwanted conversations. For additional conversation privacy the UH089sx also has CTCSS � Interference Eliminator allowing you to block out unwanted conversations. It also has Range Extender (Duplex) Capability giving you long range depending on the location of local repeater stations. The keypad and LCD Display for the UH089sx is now backlit orange for extra easy viewing at night or in low light situations.

Built-in VOX Circuitry allows hands free operation with the optional VOX headset (VM-090). The UH089sx also has open scan and group scan.
